On the Other Side of It

Have you ever had something on your mind that you didn't really want to discuss, but could not get it out of your mind at the same time? That is how I felt when trying to blog in the past several months. We were going through some fertility issues, and ultimately through a successful IVF cycle. Write a blog post? About what? Everything that was really happening in my life was overshadowed by a huge monkey in the room. After all the tests and procedures were concluded, we began IVF. Only one cycle later, thank heavens, and now we are expecting not one, but two little babies in mid-January!

Here we are, on the other side of a very difficult year, looking forward to the arrival of our new little babies. We have seen them several times, from days after conception, through this 13th week, where we saw little feet kicking, faces moving, backs arching, and so much more. Twin pregnancy is considered high risk, so we will be seeing the little ones at a minimum of every 4 weeks.

Life has continued and in the past months, we have been on family vacations, Little A finished his first year of preschool, and his first summer of camp. He met two of his newest cousins this summer, and went tubing on Elk Lake for the first time. My ever-challenging little man has been a trooper through all of the extra doctor appointments, morning sickness, and often comatose-tired-momma days. Sad fact though, if he doesn't listen better by the time these babies are born, we will have to buy one of those awful monkey leashes for him if I ever hope to leave the house with all three kids.

So here is to hoping for healthy babies, a cooperative 3 year old, and the energy and patience to enjoy the coming year for all of the blessings it will bring!!! Cheers!!!
