Grandparents Galore

March began our spring break season for the Florida Kastls. We have enjoyed grandparents galore so far, and its only the beginning. This past weekend we spent a day in Key West and a night in Marathon with G'ma and G'pa. It was a great mini-trip. In 24 hours we managed to drive to Key West, eat lunch at an outdoor cafe, tour Ernest Hemingway's home, check out the southernmost point, tour a few art galleries, stuff ourselves with Key lime pie, and relax at an amazing condo.

We had a few speed bumps in our trip. G'pa is still recoving his strength after a severe bout with food poisoning from our trip to the French cafe. Hint for future travelers - don't get the scrambled eggs at Le Bistro. That was our real speed bump, my second is really just a near-disaster that ended up to be just a funny situation. We narrowly escaped a Caddyshack-esque Babyruth/Little A poopie reenactment at the condo pool. Picture Little A, swimming in his reusable diaper in the lovely condo pool. The diaper is a little big on him, so it sags and gaps when he gets out of the pool because it carries a bunch of water. After an afternoon of fruitless grunts, I know that a #2 situation is in our near future. We narrowly escaped the Caddyshack re-enactment because, Little A did his business crouched right next to a fellow vacationer on the pool deck. Charming.

Grandparents galore has continued this week and I've been able to get a haircut, and have a mid-week date night with hubby. (Thanks for the gift card Aunt Kathy, I love Bang bang shrimp!!!) A loves the treats that accompany a trip from G'ma and G'pa, especially the chocolate covered raisins. Like a true son of mine, he gets unreasonably excited by a good piece of candy.

Next grandparent galore invasion is in two weeks. Can't wait!
