Quality and Quantity Time

We are two weeks down on our move to south Florida. This experience has been such a blessing for us. It is really amazing what subtracting a 1 - 1 1/2 hour commute each way, and countless overnight work trips from life does for our family. And I never felt like we were lacking anything in our former location. In our current 'life', my son and his daddy see each other each morning, and in the evening, we get to eat dinner together. Some days, my husband works at home, and I am able to run out for a little errand completely alone. (I know what you may be thinking - Walmart at 2pm on a Thursday all by yourself? Big whoopee, Maggie!) All of these extra moments are quickly adding up and we are all so happy to be living in this new alternative universe.

And I imagined this move would be hard. I miss my friends, my son's friends, and the familiarity of our old home. I was fearful of the schedule change for Aiden, and moving to an apartment. The boxes in the garage, the boxes in the closets, the items from our laundry room (iron, dryer sheets, assorted cleaning products) that I cannot find and have to replace one by one has added moving expenses. These are all inconvenient, and I regret being far away from the people with whom I have worked hard to build friendships.

I can't duplicate my old life and relationships, but I am feeling confident that what we have in store is going to be great. And we have so much time to enjoy it!
